Slide Pro Tips: Overcoming the Learning Curve
The Slide is a totally new innovation in pouch containers, so there is a bit of a learning curve. Here are my pro tips for getting the most out of it.
Tip 1: Know Your Positions
The Slide has three opening positions.
- Click up once for quick pouch access.
- Click up twice for a wider opening for easier loading.
- Click down for the disposal chamber
When you’re loading, use the wide opening (2) for more room - and when you're snagging a pouch, use the small opening (1) so your pouches stay secure.
Tip 2: Don’t Overload It
The Slide is designed to hold one full tin of ZYN®-sized pouches. If you start trying to cram too many larger pouches sin there, they’ll get jammed.
If you can get used to loading fewer pouches more often, you’re going to have a way better time.
Tip 3: Load with Finesse
First, make sure the Slide is angled downward while loading so gravity does the work and the pouches can fall into place.
Next, load in small batches — dump some in, let them fall down into their home, dump the rest in, let them settle, and then you’re good to close.
And as you’re loading, give it a little shake so the pouches fall down more naturally.
Angle down, load in batches, give it a shake — and you’re golden.
Tip 4: Use the Shake
As the Slide sits in your pocket, the pouches settle and can get bunched up. So if it feels a little stuck when you go to open it, give it a little shake to loosen the pouches.
Same thing when you go to close it — angle the Slide down and give it a little shake so the pouches fall back into the tin, and you can close it without any pouches sticking out.
Tip 5: Be Gentle — Don’t Force Anything
Think about how you treat your sunglasses or your iPhone. You don’t manhandle those things — you treat them with care. Same with the Slide.
If it feels stuck, don’t force it. Close it, give it a little shake, let the pouches loosen up, and try again. If things are getting stuck too often, try loading a little less until you get more dialed in. And don’t pry on the lid or try and twist it off.
Treat it with care, and it will last you a long time.
