The Only 2 Things You Should Buy For Men (Holiday Gifting Guide)

Buying gifts for men is not as hard as you think.

Have you ever felt like you had no idea what to get your boyfriend / brother / dad / husband for Christmas?

Here’s the reality: There’s really only 2 things that will ALWAYS work as a holiday gift for men. 

  1. Another version of something he already uses regularly

  2. An upgrade for something he does/uses regularly

(1) Something You Know He Uses Regularly

If you see him wearing the same pair of sweatpants everyday, it’s probably because that’s his only pair. And he would LOVE getting another pair of basically the exact same thing. 

I got a pair of sweatpants last year, and it’s arguably my most used holiday gift ever. 

Other hard working items like a simple jacket, hoodies, wallets, phone cases, etc. if you notice he’s in need… I know it’s boring, but even underwear (if it’s the same type he already uses!) will always be appreciated. 

(2) An Upgrade for Something He Does/Uses Regularly

There’s a reason his wallet is old and tattered - because he’s probably had it since high school. 

If you get him an upgrade to that, something that is basically the same size and shape, but nicer, he’ll not only love it, but he’ll get use out of it every day!

The Biggest Trap to Avoid

One of the biggest men’s gift giving mistakes to avoid is getting him something brand new, something that he’s never tried or done before. 

Men are simple creatures - we have our routines and habits - and we don’t want to have to add something new to our routine.

And typically we don’t like trying new things unless we discover them. 

So just stick to stuff you know he already likes - this isn’t the time to try and get him to start scrubbing his feet with a pumice stone every night.
